Government agencies often have a reputation for being, shall we say, less than helpful. I spent much of my career working for state agencies and found this frustrating even from the inside. One of these jobs involved taking calls from either state citizens who had questions or concerns about a licensed individual or, individuals in the industry itself that we regulated. When I was in third grade there was one teacher almost everyone feared. It seemed no one wanted to be in her class. Her strong teaching and personality styles made such an impression on many of her students that it remains with them today. For over a year, I have worked for a company that helps businesses build better relationships, both internally among employees and externally with clients. It’s all based on our founder and CEO, William M. (Mack) Hull’s, philosophy of natural synergy. Mack is a successful businessman and entrepreneur but was not always happy in his work because he didn’t always get along with his clients. When he was unable to build a personal relationship with his client, he was less likely to close the business and even if he did succeed, it took more time and energy than with those he had that personal relationship.
